Carmen Felix

Carmen Felix joined IAASS since 2012, and she is currently the Deputy
chair of the Conference Planning Committee, having taken an important
role during the preparation of the 6th IAASS conference in Montreal.
Carmen is a space professional with a MSc. in Space Science from the
International Space University in Strasbourg, France, and a BSc. in
Electronics and Communications from ITESM in Mexico. She has
experience in the telecommunication sector having worked for aT&T and
Sasken – Texas Instruments. She worked at NASA Ames Research Center
during 2010, for the Small Satellite Division, specifically initiating
the PhoneSat project, nano-satellite based on a smartphone. She also
opened the opportunity for the first Mexican high school group, to
participate in the NASA Ames’ STEP program, and helped Mexican
Universities to create internship opportunities at NASA Ames.
She has been the National Point of Contact in Mexico for Space
Generation since 2011, and was part of the core team organizing the
last Space Generation Congress in Italy and its participation during
the IAC12.
She is also a member of the core team for the Space Safety Magazine,
the quarterly print magazine and a daily news website, jointly
published by the International Association for Advancement of Space
Safety (IAASS) and the International Space Safety Foundation (ISSF).
Carmen is passionate about space exploration and human spaceflight.
She has experience in telecommunication, satellite technology and
space analogs.
