Henri Baccini

A mathematics graduate of Toulouse University in France and a safety expert. From 1974 to 2006 he  worked at CNES, the French Space Agency, during successive Ariane rocket launches. He was in charge of the new central safety department in CNES, a function that he set up in 2003. It includes ground, flight, and earth environment safety, but also space debris and planetary protection. Henri Baccini is considered the father of launch safety in Europe.
